The Lion’s form draws inspiration from archaic Persian bronze incense burners from the Seljuq period, examples of which are in great museum collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the Reza Abbasi Museum in Tehran.

Zollanvari's wooden boxes are ornate storage containers. Currently, we have two box designs, both made of solid wood and hand painted. The Zollanvari Tea-Box bears our most popular Pomegranate Tree of Life motif from our Gabbehs Fauna & Flora Collection and is compartmentalised to fit in a variety of teabags. The Zollanvari Jewellery box has a colourful all-over Ying Yang design motif from our Gabbehs Geometric Squares Revisited collection. The interior of the box is lined, ideal to protect precious jewellery.

Zollanvari's Home Décor Collection of Wine Carriers is a most stylish accessory designed to be used as a shopping bag, gift bag or picnic wine-carrier. Created specifically for bottles of wine, our carriers come in four distinct sizes: single-, double- four- and six-bottle carriers and are created from a combination of old bags woven by Ghashgha'i and Afshar nomads, and new purpose-woven Gabbehs and Baluch Soumaks, which combine kelim, soumak and knotted-pile weaving techniques. They all have strong leather trimmings and carrier straps and handles. Most of the woven panels are re-purposed from left-over cuttings from the production of our coffers, once again proving that the concept of a resource-efficient and sustainable production is deep rooted in all the products we create.

Zollanvari’s Home Décor Collection of mafrash coffers is designed to be used as stools, tables and chests. The literal meaning of the word mafrash is sheet or table cloth and the root of the word signifies to spread, to cover, or to furnish. Our mafrash Home Décor objects are created from a combination of old bags woven by Ghashgha’i and Afshar nomads, and new purpose-woven Gabbehs and Baluch Soumaks, which combine kelim, soumak and knotted-pile weaving techniques to give a jewel-like multi-textured surface ideal for the three-dimensional objects in this collection.
